…My India trip gave me the most cherished gift, the first school I visited today ( 09/19/2025 ) in Roorkee, Swami Dayananda Saraswati Vidyala — in the true essence, the beginning of “Ārogini.”
I met the principal, the teachers, and the children… and what pure joy it was!
My heart melted.
Their innocence, their warmth, their smiles, the spark in their eyes — they filled me with a sense of hope and purpose I cannot quite put into words.
Offering classes from preschool to 8th grade, encompassing academics, music, dance, art, and yoga, the school opens doors for underprivileged children, many from nearby villages, farming families, and local communities, giving them not just education, but also dreams to hold on to.
The sweetest twist to this journey — an early morning stop at a roadside dhaba. Hot parathas, strong coffee, the golden sun rising slowly… simple, yet yum and soul-filling, before stepping into something unforgettable, a moment I will hold close forever.
Through “Ārogini”, I had the opportunity to experience this firsthand — to listen, learn, and feel both the beauty and the challenges of the school.
This first school visit will always stay with me, a blessing wrapped in smiles. It marks the start of “Ārogini’s” path today.

Ārogini had the joy of visiting Sai Dham School, and the experience was profoundly moving.
Dr. Motilal Guptaji has created a remarkable legacy, offering co-education up to 12th grade along with diverse vocational courses, opening doors of opportunity for many underprivileged children.
Beyond academics, the school fosters the spiritual aspect and the mind, instilling values of empathy, mindfulness, and inner strength.
These children deserve the best; they carry dreams and goals within them, just like any of us. With this nurturing arrangement, the sky is truly the limit for them, offering endless possibilities and boundless opportunities. I also had the chance to talk to a few students, listening to their goals and aspirations, and witnessing their determination and curiosity.
During the visit, I spoke with a few parents, gently encouraging them and highlighting the importance of continuing their children’s education. It was heartening to witness their renewed commitment to supporting their children’s learning journey.
Ārogini feels blessed to be a part of this inspiring odyssey and is deeply grateful to “Home of Hope” for making this meaningful connection possible.
With this inspiration, Ārogini’s umbrella projects — Bachpan Drishti, Manah, and Jeevan — are pleased to announce that they will be launched in 2026, dedicated to nurturing young minds and vision with care, creativity, and compassion.
Sending love and light to all the hearts I met.

…Ārogini had the opportunity to visit Manovikas today, a non-profit in Delhi that has been transforming lives for over 30 years.
Truly grateful to the Home of Hope Inc. and its founder, Dr. Sabharwal, Rita Sharma, and Neeti Sandhu, for trusting me
with this opportunity to witness God’s work through Manovikas.
What began in a small basement has grown into a beautiful space where autistic and mentally challenged children are guided with patience, dignity, and love. So often, these children are misunderstood by the outside world.
Being there, it was amazing to observe the strength within them, their ability to learn, create, and experience happiness in their own unique ways. With the right guidance and a sense of direction, their potential shines, and Manovikas is allowing exactly that.
Today, many of the students stand as self-advocates and even corporate employees, a beautiful reflection of what belief, training, and opportunity can create.
The reception itself felt so warm and welcoming, and as we moved through the building, each floor had workshops in progress, filled with creativity, skill-building, and purpose.
***What stayed with me most were the smiles, the hugs, and the joy with which the students shared their small yet big achievements, showing their drawings, learning math tables, creating beautiful coasters, girls learning about menstruation and health, and some even designing websites on Canva.
Each moment reflected growth, confidence, and pride in what they were learning.
The programs focus on real-life skills, hands-on creativity, practical learning, and computer use, helping students build confidence and independence.
The founders, Dr. Alok Bhuwan and Dr. Indira Bhuwan, have dedicated their lives to this mission. Their vision and commitment can be felt in every corner of the place.
Ārogini feels deeply happy to be connected with such meaningful work.
Much appreciation to Home of Hope Inc. for creating bridges that allow such connections to happen.
Deeply grateful!
“NAB ~ A Sanctuary of Self-Reliance.”
…Today’s visit to the National Association for the Blind, Hauz Khas, New Delhi left my heart full and with grace.
A setting rooted in warmth, care, and resiliency where visually impaired women are guided toward independence. Grateful to Shalini Khanna and Home of Hope Inc for the opportunity to witness this beautiful work up close.
From learning everyday skills like cooking, baking, to folding clothes and personal grooming…from applying lipstick and nail polish with confidence, to building vocational abilities through computer and smartphone training.
There is dignity in every small step.
Job-readiness and placement support further open doors, while office skills such as data entry and receptionist roles are taught using assistive technology.
There is also training in small-scale entrepreneurship, along with basic computer skills such as typing, screen readers like NVDA/JAWS, and navigating the digital world via email, WhatsApp, and online forms.
With structured training, hostel facilities, emotional support, and counseling, NAB guides women toward self-reliance, helping them earn, live independently, and move through the world with self-respect.
What touched me deeply was their medical training as well, where women are being trained in breast care and therapeutic massage, opening doors to meaningful work and compassionate service.
I even had the chance to experience a personal massage there, sharing a few light moments and laughter that made it all the more special.
With job training, placements, and a nurturing environment, NAB is not just teaching skills; it is building self-belief, one woman at a time.
A reminder that empowerment doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes, it unfolds in the most unexpected ways.
“Shining Paths, One Life at a Time.”

Here, care is more than a service; it’s a shared journey of health, hope, and heartfelt connection.
