BACHPAN DRISHTI
Where Every Child Sees, Creates, and Believes
OVERVIEW:
Bachpan Drishti is a nurturing umbrella project of “Ārogini”, dedicated to shining lives, one heart at a time. Every child deserves the chance to see the world clearly and express the colorful world within them. Bachpan Drishti ( meaning “Childhood Vision”) is a heartfelt initiative born from love, purpose, and the desire to reach children in underserved rural areas of India with two essential tools: sight and self-expression.
As an eye doctor, a mother, and someone who believes in the healing power of words, I witness at my place of work first hand how a child’s world transforms when clarity is restored — not just to the blackboard in class, but to the broader canvas of life.
Bachpan Drishti brings together free eye exams, spectacle distribution, simple Ayurvedic practices like eye relaxation and palming, and the gentle art of journaling, designed to offer visual and emotional clarity. It is not just about eye care — it’s about nurturing confidence, curiosity, and hope in young minds. Along with raising awareness about eye health and providing corrective eyewear, it also offers resources for mental well-being and self-expression, empowering students to see the world more clearly — both through their eyes and within themselves.
Our vision is to create safe school spaces where children receive the gift of eyesight and the chance to express their inner world. Visual affirmation walls, colorful journals, and kind words will accompany each pair of glasses because we believe every child should feel seen, both inside and out.
We’re beginning with rural schools in India, where the need is great and resources are scarce. Your support can help bring focus, dignity, and delight to countless young lives.

Why India?
Because it’s where my roots quietly rest — there’s a child there today who can’t see the blackboard, who deserves a clear view of the world.
We all pick our corners of the world to love a little harder.
And,
This is mine!
The Problem:
Millions of children in India’s rural and underserved regions silently struggle with poor vision and emotional insecurities.
Unaddressed visual impairments and lack of mental health awareness often lead to academic setbacks, behavioral issues, and diminished confidence.
Our Belief:
- Every child deserves to see clearly, feel seen, and be heard.
- When their vision is supported and inner world nurtured, they thrive in school, relationships, and life.
Assumptions:
- Early vision care improves learning outcomes.
- Creative measures supports mental well being.
- Schools and families are willing to engage.
